Hello, I’m Paul Cleal and I enjoy helping people to make a difference. I act as an advisor, board member or mentor to organisations and individuals who want to make change happen at a personal, organisational or broader level.  I bring a wealth of experience gained from 30 years working in both private and public sectors and write on leadership and other issues from time to time in my Blog.  I’m now working in a number of non-executive roles which you can learn more about on my Current Work page. You can also see some highlights of 2018. The diversity of these roles reflects my passions and interests which include:

  • education, diversity and social mobility,
  • Africa and its diaspora here in the UK,
  • sport and
  • entrepreneurship.

I was born and brought up in Croydon, in the south of London which, for me, despite all its challenges remains the greatest city in the world and that’s why despite no longer working full time here I want to stay and make a difference to its future.  For sixteen years I was a partner in PwC, the world’s largest professional services firm, during which I held a range of leadership positions including main boards of UK and Africa practices. I have grown successful businesses within PwC, helped numerous clients achieve their goals through my work in corporate finance and consulting, led the Human Resources function through a period of substantial change and been recognised with awards for my work promoting ethnic diversity in the workplace and being a senior role model.  I have an MBA from London Business School.
